Two Bad Choices
With the 2024 election just a couple of weeks away, a lot of focus has been put on the Evangelical Vote. Let’s face it, Christians are in a tough spot this election. We have two bad choices on the ticket. Neither candidate seems to be a Christian by their fruit, or lack thereof, and neither candidate has good positions on LGBT or Abortion. So what are we to do?
The choice between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris is about as different as they could be in terms of overall policy. On the Harris ticket you have the most pro-abortion agenda in United States History for a presidential candidate. You also have the most pro-LGBT agenda in history as well. The reality is that no Christian can support Kamala Harris unless they completely have their head in the sand and are ignorant.
So that leaves Donald Trump. But Trump is not without problems either. He is an individual continually mired in controversy. And no, I’m not talking about the controversies spun in the webs by the liberal left. He is morally reprehensible, unrepentant, braggadocios, and full of pride. He is vulgar. He also supports choice when it comes to abortion, though not as drastically as Harris, and is not against the LGBT movement.
So what are Christians to do? We have two choices. We can either vote for Trump as the lesser of two evils or we can vote for a write-in or not vote at all. Those are the options we have. Neither are good.
I think we can agree that no true Christian can vote for the Harris/Walz ticket. We just cannot. But I think that each Christian has to go with his or her conscience on what to do about Donald Trump.
Personally, I will be voting for Trump, kicking and screaming the whole way. He has never been my choice. Not the first time, not last time, and certainly not now. But, for me, he is better than the godless alternative.
So, I cannot tell Christians who to vote for, but certainly who not to vote for. We should all be in prayer as we go to the ballot box this November.
