Start Your Mornings With God
I was watching some videos on YouTube the other day and came across one that was about a verse that changed the speaker’s life. The verse was Psalm 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14 ESV
I could see immediately why this would be a life-changing verse because it has some pretty amazing truth in it. Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love. That is how the verse begins. But what does that mean exactly? What does it mean to be satisfied, and what does it mean for God to have steadfast love?
Satisfy: The word in Hebrew, śābēaʿ, usually is referring to having enough to eat or drink, to be full, to not be lacking. The love of God, leaves us without want. If we fully dive into His love and mercies, if we truly understand what He has done for us, and, also important, what he does not do to us who are under His wrath prior to becoming His children, we would have a very different perspective on the world and on life.
His love is steadfast. It isn’t wavering. It isn’t fickle. It isn’t just a feeling. It is a deep conscious choice that He has made to wrap us in His arms to love us and keep us.
When we start our mornings with God, we put ourselves in a mindset that is pointed towards His Kingdom. It sets up the rest of your day to be one that is grounded in His Word. Make it a habit. Make it the highlight of your morning. Spend the time with God.
